Glatthaar takes Health & Safety seriously.

We take the safety of our workplace very seriously, which is why we have partnered with CCS Organisation Limited Health & Safety, to provide Health & Safety (H&S) advice and training to our on-site teams. CCS conducts Site Safety Evaluations of the Construction site.  This is a positive way of monitoring our works to ensure we comply with the most up to date H&S Legislation. CCS compiles all on site H&S documentation, to include Risk Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH Assessment and Construction Phase Plans where applicable.

H&S is of paramount importance on any construction project, including self-build projects, as the Domestic Client now falls under The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.

The wellbeing of the people involved is important. Construction sites have inherent risks such as falls from height, electrical hazards, and exposure to harmful substances. Prioritising H&S ensures that workers and those directly or indirectly involved with a project are protected against any risk or harm. Compliance with H&S procedures also promotes efficiency and productivity. A safe working environment reduces the likelihood of accidents and injuries and minimises downtime due to incidents. This in turn helps the project run smoothly delivering against time and budget constraints.

Compliance is also a legal requirement. Failure to comply can have serious consequences, including legal and financial penalties. Any liability insurance could be invalidated if protocol is not followed. A commitment to H&S promotes a positive project culture. When individuals feel safe in their working environment, morale improves and teamwork flourishes. H&S is not static.  It is constantly changing as we develop new working practices, and the working environment evolves, which is why our relationship with CCS is ongoing. Our projects vary greatly, so we use the support and guidance where we feel it is needed.

Domestic Clients may find the whole process of a self-build quite daunting. CCS also offers the services of Principal Designer as set out in The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
